Were they openly "gay"? Or was it a perversion they indulged in privately? Did the Romans have gay marriage?

Yes. No. Not per se, but male concubines were a thing.

Exactly, concubines. A dirty little secret you wouldn't wheel out to the family.

I do believe you just blasphemed. Your magical dictator in the sky is clearly in favour of concubines in the Bible. His perfect moral standards include 'dirty' practices to your mind?
"Faith is a state of openness or trust. To have faith is like when you trust yourself to the water. You don't grab hold of the water when you swim, because if you do you will become stiff and tight in the water, and sink. You have to relax, and the attitude of faith is the very opposite of clinging, and holding on. In other words, a person who is fanatic in matters of religion, and clings to certain ideas about the nature of God and the universe becomes a person who has no faith at all. Instead they are holding tight. But the attitude of faith is to let go, and become open to truth, whatever it might turn out to be."

He never favoured them, he allowed them at a specific point in time. Jesus made it very clear in the NT they are not acceptable.

From my point of view I believe that you have mental disorders, both delusional, one of fantasy, one of grandeur. There may be help for you but I doubt it.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

One huge thing you're missing is that here in the US, ethnic minorities are protected from discrimination by law, while it is still legal to discriminate based on sexual orientation, per federal law. 22 states have passed their own laws barring LGBT discrimination, meaning that anti-gay discrimination in America is still legal in 28 states.
The fact that minorities can avail themselves of the legal system in order to redress injustices means that while ethnic bigotries may well be more virulent (this may or may not be true), they are also easier to counter through legal means. Because gays don't have the same level of protection in our society, they often must hide their identity. And such a matter as portraying a false identity, or repressing part of oneself, is necessarily taxing, psychologically.
I think your thinking on this matter is overly simplistic, myself.
