Ask a Traditional Catholic
RE: Ask a Traditional Catholic
Quote: For Western Christendom, it was for many centuries under the control of the Byzantine Greeks who had not yet broken with Rome.

Do you ever know what you are talking about?

The muslims took Jerusalem in 634.  Urban II didn't get around to calling for the Crusade until 1095.  News did not travel THAT slowly!

How did THAT happen?

Regarding these two justices, if we afford equal protection under civil law and we reject discrimination against any group on the basis of those laws, then applying the law equally to all groups is reasonable.

Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and to God that which is God's.

If Caesar wants to recognize gay marriage, then Caesar may do so.

God does not.

And therein lies the problem for our nation going forward.

Don't take this as a personal attack Randy but this is the kind of Novus Ordo Church of Nice lovetalk I cannot stand. This is not the teaching of the Catholic Church.

ALL THINGS belong to God. Caesar owns NOTHING. Caesar has no right to hinder the propagation and upholding of the teachings of the true religion. No state or mortal power has the right to go against the will of GOD.

They are not Catholics. They have hopped into bed with the wordly.

I understand. What I did NOT post (but implied) is that God has a way of toppling those who do not govern His people wisely.

It has been said that if God does NOT chastise America, then He will owe Sodom & Gomorrah an apology.

Thoughts?

Wars were waged slowly then, and it was the duty of the Byzantine Emperor to defend the East from heathen invaders not the Roman Pontiff. He only stepped outside of his temporal sphere of power in the west after being asked by the Byzantine Emperor.

Honestly PiousPaladan, I want you to know, I hate your imaginary friend.  Not you.

And when I have pointed out in other posts that many atheists are angry at God, forum members have gone ballistic.

I mean, I get that you are not a homogenized group, but I do enjoy having stereotypes confirmed.

One question: how can you hate God if he does not exist?

Open at your own risk:

Yes, I can hate something that doesn't exist.  God doesn't exist, any version of god.  But I hate them all.
I reject your reality and substitute my own!

So the answer is that you do not know what you are talking about.  I already knew that.

Julius Caesar conquered all of Gaul in 8 years.  Time to stop listening to those cassock wearing perverts.  They don't know shit.

I would say he has already begun doing so, we have IS in the East and the beginnings of the fall of civilization in the Western World. We have seen how morality has crumbled in the past eighty years since the heresy of liberalism begun to take hold.

It may not be quite as visually spectacular as that of Gomorrah but I believe the chastisement has already begun.

The Byzantine emperors wasted a good deal of time on fruitless campaigns. But as I said he did not ask the Pope to send forces to the Eastern Roman Empire. As soon as Urban was asked to, he did straight away. He sent more than just forces in fact, he threw half of Europe at the infidel to protect fellow Christians in the East.

If you are into Fatima, do you believe that the Consecration of Russia occurred?
