Los Angeles police shot and killed more people over the weekend than Japan and the UK did in 2014

We have a big fu*king problem. Period.
In the past four days during the extended Fourth of July holiday weekend, police in Los Angeles County shot and killed five different people in five different incidents across the county.
In the United Kingdom, zero people were shot and killed by police in all of 2013. Mind you, the UK, with a population of nearly 65,000,000, has 5x the population of Los Angeles County.

Black man who can’t pay bail has spent 6 years behind bars — but hasn’t been convicted of anything

A judge threw out an indictment against him in 2009 because prosecutors didn’t reveal DNA evidence linking two other men to the accuser. When the grand jury heard the case again with that evidence and testimony from the accuser, her mother and McClinton, they deliberated for 30 minutes before dismissing the case.
At this point, McClinton was free, but a short time later, prosecutors had convinced a judge there was enough evidence to charge him and he was again jailed, the Review-Journal reports.
In the six years he’s been jailed, prosecutors have tried to offer him two plea deals: five years to life, then two years to life. He refused both.

Responsible Gun Owner Shoots Up Neighborhood Because He Could

The Barrow County Sheriff Office SWAT team was called to the scene and eventually talked the alleged gunman, Steven Fincher, 29, into surrendering. Winder police would said Fincher recently lost his brother, and was involved in an argument while drinking with a family friend.
Three homes were hit by gunfire but no one was injured. Police evacuated several residents in the neighborhood during the rampage. They said Fincher's mother, sister and four young children were in the home and were evacuated safely while the negotiations took place.
Police recovered several weapons and ammunition from the home, including an AR-style rifle and 45 caliber pistol police said he fired at the neighbor's houses.

One was black and one was white.  Guess which was which.
