It has been quite some time since I registered here so I don't remember if there is a "captcha" feature to block out spambots or not?  If not, is it because of some problem with the board software?

Several of us are veterans of CVAtheists and we remember what happened there when the spammers overwhelmed the staff.

Yep, we do.

Had a relative get her email shutdown by her internet provider. Her computer was sending out massive amounts of crap and she didn't have a clue.

Hope it didn't contribute to the problems here, not that we will ever know . . .

Exian brought them here with his new rock crushing job.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

See, I do stuff sometimes.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Rock crushing is in the past. Late developments show a new thrend of colon cleaning services. Sorry guys, rock crushing is demodé, the new thing is about cleaning one's colon LMAO.

I wonder - does the product cleanse other punctuation as well? I have a couple of commas and an ampersand that could do with it.

I'm not sure what happened to mine. I'm pretty sure I still had it when last moving. But somehow it seems to have been lost on the way.

It might be worth some effort to locate. They are hot on Ebay these days.  Turns out there were some manufacturing variations over the years and some turn out to be very rare and more desirable to collectors.

There were 'halfnuts' and 'fullnuts' (also known as 'coconuts') and 'blanknuts' made, apparently of all 3 models, C, CV, and CX. There were also early HP41C models with slightly taller keys.  I have one, and it is an interesting variation.

The accessories can be valuable too.  If you have a wand, it might be worth more than the calculator.  Curiously, the HPIL cassette drives are offered on Ebay for high prices even though functionally, they are kinda useless, the data tapes aren't made anymore, and there has been tape pressure pad deterioration in all the tapes made originally.  Even the QRCs have value.  Directions, accessory catalogs, Application pacs, origianl boxes, are all going on Ebay for surprising prices.

If you have an unusual ROM module it could be very valuable.  I just paid nearly $200 for a Time Module and well over $100 for a Plotter ROM.

No comparable sales on my custom modified CX, but I think a serious collector would go up to $1000 for it.

Hope you didn't leave any batteries in yours.  When they start leaking they can do some serious damage.  They can be fixed, but it can be a pain.  Even dead HP41s have value for parts.  82166 interfaces are worth quite a bit, PPC ROMS fetch high prices, and having the manual for that really helps too.

Bah, obviously just a fad. People will still be crushing rocks when colon cleansing is but a faint memory, heard of only in the tales of the old ones, in stories about a world long sunken into oblivion.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
