Off-duty NYPD sergeant probed for pulling gun in fender-bender confrontation

Police sources said the sergeant was retreating into a restaurant to call 911 because he felt threatened.

Doesn't look like he's "retreating" to me....and if he was threatened by anything it was the video camera.  Those things are dangerous.

KING: Suicides by cops under investigation are troubling for several reasons

And here's my greater point: if this many officers are willing to go to the most extreme length possible to avoid prosecution, what else might police be willing to do to avoid the penalties for other forms of corruption? If officers all over the country would rather die than face down an investigation, how unreasonable is it to assume that other officers would be willing to falsify or plant evidence, change reports, or outright lie under oath before owning up to their mistakes?

These deaths are tragic, yes, but we must consider the reverberating implications of just how far police are willing to go to avoid paying the price for their crimes.

Honolulu police officer caught raping friend's 14-year-old daughter by girl's mother

The teen victim told her mother they have had sex before, which Laconsay denied. However, he did admit to the girl's mother that he had sex with the teen twice before, according to court documents obtained by the Star Advertiser.
