I'm not sure I can do that. I think I'm going to maintain for anywhere for a few months to a year after I reach my goal first if I do decide to go that route.

You must be well over six feet tall, then.  At five/nine, 170 for me is obese.  I'm comfortably skinny around 130-140, which I've almost reached from having been at 189 just a few months ago.

I'm 5'10.5'' If I don't lose too much muscles mass I should be be able to be %20 BF or less at 170. I strength train some. It's depressing to find that I need to lose 35 pounds more instead of 20 pounds more to be normal.

I wouldn't classify being muscular as being normal. Asthethically pleasing, in some instances so long as it is not overdone, but certainly not "normal".

I love the gym myself. I like that I'm not running in the elements (usually exercising outside in the Texas heat will get you really hurt), I prefer stretching and doing my floor exercises on something soft, if I over exert myself I'm not a mile away from home, and paying money every month is my biggest motivation to get to the gym.

That being said I'm having a hard time doing -any- exercising because of my newborn. I feel awful being away from her all day so all I want to do when I get home is cuddle her and spend time with her. The other day I stayed at work for a seminar that was voluntary and I felt so guilty for being away from her for 13 hours I cried. I've tried running with the stroller once but that is a weekend thing cause I prefer daylight and my husband to be around so he can run with the dog.

Maybe if you got a stationary cycle or a stair stepping platform to use at home where you can still be near your newborn? The cycle might be a little bit easy, but I think stair stepping is supposed to have the same energy requirement as running. I have a pair of mats for stretching at home, although I find I usually don't need them for that.

I had calculated I could be %21 Bodyfat when I reach my goal weight of 185, but having updated everything I find I will more likely be %24-25 BF. Which, by all accounts is still overweight. I should be wearing size 33 or 34 pants by then and wearing Medium size shorts and t-shirts...soooo... average is overweight?

I think I've been losing more lean mass than I planned on.

I don't much like the idea of reaching my goal to then probably be faced with idea of eventually dieting more to get my belly down to a slight pooch which is what I wanted all along.

I think that would be more of an exercise issue than diet. Just stay active. You'll be healthy enough.

I don't have the build or natural talent to be muscular.  I just want to look good. If I can get down to 170 I think I'll probably just look ok. Tbh I'd like to be an "athletic" %15 bodyfat but ain't happening.

How current is your avatar picture? You seem to look pretty good to me, then again we're each our worst own critic when it comes to ourselves.

Lol oh no I can't do anything at home. I have a husky that thinks the moment you get on the floor you are trying to play with him and won't move away from you (I've tried numerous times and just get a tail wap or a face of dog breath lol) and we have such a small apartment any exercise equipment would not fit. I think it's just cause she is so little, once her newness wears off I think I will welcome the time to myself that isn't work or taking care of a kid lol Once I get to that point my husband has a great schedule to allow me to go to the gym so it's just a matter of being able to be away from Charlie Bear. Even still my weight is pretty good so I have a bit before I NEED to go to the gym.

I see. Yes, from what I've seen you look fit.

I'm an L in China, an M in Europe and an S in the US.... go figure!

I can usually get by with a medium or large men's shirt (don't get me started on the ghastly fare available in the women's department), but outfitting the lower body is a total crapshoot.  Just got a pair of jeans that were customized in-store -- they started out as 46/32 to fit my thighs, but got hemmed and taken in at the waist and are more like a 38/30 now.
