I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

Hypothesis bordering on a theory based on evidence as presented in this thread.

Since religion downplays the importance of physical beauty, the vast majority of lovely folks have turned to atheism and many of them are here at AF. Any one of you could serve as exhibit A.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.

You'd think it did, but it's lip service only - they turn around and immediately praise beautiful people as quite obviously being godly. Otherwise, why would they be so beautiful?

I'm pretty sure there's no correlation between physical beauty and religious affiliation, but I've seen and/or heard a few religious pundits make the opposite accusation (similar to their B.S. line about why women become feminists), that we reject Gawd because we're ugly and/or socially inept.

I do agree that we have numerous examples that debunk that claim.
