I'm not surprised she doesn't know how prevalent hatred is in Christianity if she isn't surrounded by hateful people, and I appreciate that she asks for clarification if there's something she doesn't get. Since she got here, she's fought through people hurling straw at her, practically non-stop even though given the few times she's built strawmen, she's acknowledged her mistakes and changed her thinking because of it. She's also dealt with people being assholes to her only because she's Catholic. Would you rather she lie about her beliefs?
Also, I think she's a really nice person (who might not realize how awful Catholicism can be until she talks to people who show her that), sincerely. She says she respects opinions... would you rather her talk to you guys the way some of you talk to her? Really, Napo? The dick thing? There are members on this forum who are actually awful. Why don't you stick to targeting them with your awful comments?
After all that, I think she's showing some serious composure.
Thanks so much. You have no idea how much I appreciated this right now.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
