New Zealand is a socially progressive yet right wing country. I guess most of that is because we went from a socialist nation way back when and changed into a much more capitalist society, though we kept all of the social policies that remains aligned with our values, such as free roads, healthcare and education.
The only problem is the government here is getting more and more authoritarian, and that will likely lead me to vote for the Labor party at the next election.
