Trump's ultimate revenge.

Trump's ultimate revenge.
Everyone knows that The Donald likes to get even; in fact, he can't "help" himself.  It is just his nature.

Here's my prediction -- Donald Trump will lose the 2020 Republican nomination for President, probably, after a long impeachment trial.  He will not resign, and instead, he will run for President as a third-party candidate.  His supporters will support him (even in death) and he will split the conservative vote.  Whoever the Democratic nominee is (even, Hillary, if she decides to have another go) will coast to victory.  The House & Senate will flip to Democratic control.

You have a very positive outlook, I must say, for thinking we'll make it to 2020.

If the Democrats have proven anything, it's that they couldn't coast down a greased playground slide. Never underestimate their awesome powers to fuck up a seemingly sure thing.

He's talking about stalling the 2020 elections outright. He may run as a third party candidate if he loses, but I'm not confident Hillary could coast to victory. I really hope we get an actual progressive in office. Right now I wonder if we even will have a 2020 election, if Trump isn't stopped.

You had me up until Hillary. I love her and Bernie too, but no, I saw too much division in both camps pointing the finger at each other. Hilary and Bernie as individuals were never the problem. Their supporters bullshit all or nothing was. I don't want either to run again in 2020 not because of the person, the candidate. But because their respective supporters could not see the cost of not being united. Trump is now president because of that lack of understanding. I don't want a repeat. Dems need new blood.

You know...it wasn;t..for all of us, a matter o "all or nothing" - more like "something, anything, other than them". It's pointless to pretend that either candidate was just a few points shy of ideological purity, and that those who chose not to vote for them were just being stubborn.

Trump is the president because enough people in enough places voted for him. That's on them - not on people who didn't vote for him, or who failed to vote for you preferred candidate. Dems don;t need new blood, ideally they;'d get more than that. New blood with the same platform could only produce marginally better results - it would only sway those who agreed with hillary entirely but for some reason didn't vote for -her-.

How many people do you think that is? In any case, I don;t really know that theres a -need-..as such. Judging by the popular vote, you could run Hillary or Bernie again with a fair expectation of victory. Trump was a glitch in math, and he;s been eroding the glitch that propelled him to victory pretty much since it happened...so?

Yeah, I agree, but I am still in the "feel sorry for Hillary mode"; part of me is hoping that she will have another go (she would have run anyway had she won, right?), but the Democrats' best hope is a squeaky clean middle-age white guy.
