You kidding, gnome 2 was an amazing desktop. But now I suppose KDE is the best choice.
It looked like it could be good but I hate desktops or user interfaces where I have to learn how to select things. Like spending several minutes looking before finally spotting a small icon for a wrench that turns out to be the settings in google chrome for example. I like to navigate to whatever I want to select. To be honest, that's probably my only requirement from a user interface. That and I don't want to spend any time relearning something new for the sake of it when I could be productive instead. I'm actually happiest when I'm using vim and Gnu screen on the command line. I try to stay away from IDEs. But if I have to use a windows manager then KDE is the least different.
