There are problems with all the old testament stories. Eden, the tower, the flood, the exodus. They're just stories meant to explain things, and not really meant to be questioned. But when you have this world-spanning religion, and your eternal soul hangs in the balance of what this book says, it's hard to just say a big chunk of it is allegorical.
