The questions I propose to you are:
- Why are you, as a theist, on this forum?
- What goes through your mind when an atheist responds to one of your posts by pointing out its logical fallacies and glaring mistakes?
- Have you ever ignored one of these responses by not responding back?
- Have you ever defended yourself with something you know has inherent flaws, but do it anyway?
- Have you ever changed your mind by reading an atheist's response to you?
- If not, then why bother being part of a discussion that goes no where?
Thanks!
1. As I posted in my intro thread I enjoy having cordial, respectful discord with others on questions we all have.
2. Well that's an interesting question, but I think the reciprocal is fair as well. I own up to my mistakes if I see them.
3. I really try not to. Sometimes I don't have time and miss some responses or threads entirely as I can only devote a few minutes at a time on here while at work.
4. If I ever used an argument knowing it had inherent flaws I would slap myself.
5. In what regard? About my beliefs, no. About how I will respond, yes.
6. I believe while each side will hold to the arguments is true it does not mean it is not worth having. The more we learn the more we grow. But this would be fair to reciprocate the question in why atheists bother engaging in a discussion with theists that goes nowhere...
We are not made happy by what we acquire but by what we appreciate.
