How Do Christians Feel About the Testimony of Muslims and Vice Versa?
September 18, 2017 at 6:22 am
My uncle and his family have a house down in inland Florida. My cousin told me hurricane Irma was coming right toward them when at the last minute it changed course and veered off to the gulf.
I know this is the kind of story my mother would love to hear other Christians tell, but I wondered how she'd take it if she knew they were down there praising Allah.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.
I may defend your right to free speech, but i won't help you pass out flyers.
Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities.

The ones here don't seem to like the superior documentation of Mormonism too much, I don't suppose Islam would merit much praise either.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Their testimony doesn't count. When they pray to their god, and something good happens, it doesn't count. And the muslim god is totally not the same abrahamic god that christians and jews worship.

I think Islam definitely has some truths to it. We do believe in the same God as Muslims do, though there is a difference in our interpretation of Him. I still think Muslim prayer is valid, and I have a good friend who is Muslim whom I've asked to pray for me and vice versa.
I don't believe the hurricane veering west had anything to do with prayer though. It seems a bit presumptuous to assume God performed a miracle in this case.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

That's not what the super christee types say, hon.

Quote:The Allah of Islam, however, is definitely not the God of the Bible; for while Muslims passionately defend the unity of God, they patently deny His triunity. They recoil at the notion of God as Father, reject the unique deity of Jesus Christ the Son, and renounce the divine identity of the Holy Spirit.

Depends on how they interpret the Koran. The more radical type Muslims certainly believe this is a violation of their faith. But most devout/practicing Muslims in the West take no issue in befriending non Muslims. We've been to their wedding, spent a couple nights at their parent's house for Thanksgiving weekend last year, and still keep in touch over long distances.
One thing they are not allowed to do for us non Muslims is donate their organs to us. So it is against their religion to be organ donors in the West because more likely than not your organs would go to a non Muslim. I found out about that recently from my friend. But they are definitely allowed to be friends.
