I don't really think, at the risk of sounding like an imperialist pig, that the solution to global overpopulation is stopping to procreate in northern europe, it really isn't. I'm not saying that anyone should stop procreating, it just needs to reach sustainable levels everywhere.

I'm on the same lines. Especially the poorest countries and regions of the world have the highest birth rates. People need to be educated on contraception. Not in order to have no kids, but to bring the birthrate down just a little bit. And no, I don't think, the Chinese punitive one child model is a good approach.
