Don't tell me we're bordering on a form of Internet victim blaming here [emoji15]
Lol, joking. I like people to know I'm a woman, and I like to have pictures of myself online because it's nice to put a face to a post but I guess if I'm going to do that I have to accept that it'd attract some creeps. Fortunately I know how to handle that.
I was very interested in making sure that my comments were not construed as victim blaming. It is not your fault if someone else is an asshole. (That should be reread by other people, as needed, until it sinks in for them.) I was merely pointing out how one can avoid unpleasant interactions with some assholes. If some asshole gets banned because he (and let's face it, it will almost certainly be a he and not a she) sends you some inappropriate PMs, getting rid of the asshole will benefit the site. Frankly, if they would just fucking die, that would be better, but that, unfortunately, isn't going to happen to them all soon enough.
When I think about such things, it really makes me very angry. Of course, being a man (and a white man, so I am on top of the world, or would be if I were rich), it is not a problem for me directly. But I am really annoyed that people (mostly men) do not treat women properly. It annoys me when thinking about my wife, my sister, my mother, and people like you, who I do not even really know. You should not have to deal with this kind of shit. And yet, you do have to deal with it.
I was right, though, the Scotch does help.
