From some of the articles I've read, M$ seems to be cashing in on the general acceptance of "freemium" apps by adding advertising (which you can pay to remove) to some of the included apps. This sounds like a trial run for a new (to M$) business model where they roll out new versions of Window$ for free and get to double dip by charging the advertisers to place their ads and their customers to remove them. Now maybe M$ is going to limit these tactics to things like freecell and mine sweeper, but then maybe monkeys will fly outta my ass. Why settle for $150-$300 per license when you can set up 200 places to charge $5 each to enable/disable something.
I'm really beginning to wonder how long it will be before cars and houses have screens on them solely for the purpose of displaying advertising (inside and out) and a monthly premium to disable them.
