I was watching a show called the science of sex appeal in which the presenters analyzed the methods in which we find partners (both heterosexual and homosexual), and how beauty isn't in the eye of the beholder, it's pretty much a constant and tweaked slightly to accommodate for a few social factors. It clearly showed that both sexes are sexist in many ways, as we are built for different things and look for different things in a potential mate. Pretty interesting show.
