So at the risk of sounding like a supporter of any prophesy i just want to point out this

I've also watched a number of documenteries on such end of human kind and maybe the whole planet. Also such disasters have good evidence that all of this has happened in the past. Some of this stuff makes Revelations look like a mild inconvenience in comparison.
These are real possibilities and not just some "nutter" espousing garbage from an ancient book to try to get you to convert out of fear. To me all that prophesy was just another fear tactic used by the christians to try to get more converts. So clearly I'm not a supporter of the 2nd coming. In fact I'll bet that when the big one hits there will be a lot of distraught Christians when no salvation (except death) comes.
So to most scientist it's not a question of IF it will happen but WHEN.
I have seen however, a few people that say that we shouldn't bother with any such space programs or sciences that may help prevent or prepare for these events because Christ is coming so we should just leave all the saving of mankind to him.
To these people (and I'm sure we have some here) I say: shame to you for being so lazy, so gullible, and so uncaring that you would sit back and do nothing but try to hope that your particular faith will save you and then you turn right around and hope that the rest of us would suffer just because we don't want to think like you.
