I don't think Deep Thinker has heavier elements in mind. I suspect he/she is getting at something like "where did the original hydrogen come from", all as a prelude to slipping God through the back door. I also suspect that Deep Thinker conceives of the Big Bang (damn, I wish we could do away with that phrase) as creation from nothing rather than a change from one state that we can't currently describe to the state we inhabit.
