And this same "creed" can be used as evidence that Paul denies that he lived within the lifetime of Jesus (verse 8).
True. Were Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John written close enough to the lifetime of Jesus to be reliable?? Christians (of course) say that yes, they were. I'd love to look into the findings of the Jesus Seminar, but I read from Christians (and perhaps others think this, too?) that it's scholarship and methods were sloppy.
