When I was a Christian, I believed the apologists who said that there are many original copies of the NT, and they specifically the "creed" in 1 Corinthians 15 as being dated extremely close to Christ's supposed resurrection.

And this same "creed" can be used as evidence that Paul denies that he lived within the lifetime of Jesus (verse 8).

True. Were Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John written close enough to the lifetime of Jesus to be reliable?? Christians (of course) say that yes, they were. I'd love to look into the findings of the Jesus Seminar, but I read from Christians (and perhaps others think this, too?) that it's scholarship and methods were sloppy.
