In fact, that was one of the factors that makes me keep my beard going in some form or another.
That's the same for me. Aside from that I really like the look of my stubble, it's because I nick myself at least once most times I shave. It's just easier and more painless having a stubble.
I'd grow my facial hair out more and try a small beard if it wasn't so damn patchy. It also turns ginger once it gets to about 2cm long. My hair hair (hair on my head, not face) is really dark brown so it looks stupid.
