How do you handle the bigots in your life?

Ugh, what horrible women. I think you handled the situation in the best way. You probably wouldn't have had any impact on people that screwed up. Writing out what you really want to say and not sending it is very therapeutic though! I've done that several times.

I have as little to do with bigots as possible. Instead I try and lead by example.

This is really true.  Writing out the rant, even though I did not send it, was somewhat cathartic. It was like lancing a boil.  After I walked away from it for 10 minutes, I was able to come back, write something civil, and then just get away from them.
