I was trying to help a 12 Stepper (who in fact had served time for drug, tax, threatening the president, firearms, prostitution and pedo offenses) and his dad was such a jerk to me all I could figure out was he thought I was as legally screwed up as his son and he didn't want to be around me and/or me around his son.
I pretty quickly dropped his son and went and helped someone else, there is no shortage of people needing some help, and I shouldn't have to put up with undeserved attitude problems.
People go with what they were taught growing up barring subsequent learning/growth experiences.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
