Curiously, even though I started school in '61, I have no recollection of 'Duck and Cover' or any kind of nuclear attack drill at all.
We had fire drills, 2 a year, all the way K-12, but I don't recall ever having a civil defense drill, or film, or presentation. We had an assembly when they built a nuclear power plant nearby, that was fun.
We had sonic booms quite a bit, window rattling, scare the crap out of the kids, make teacher scream sonic booms. I suppose it had a similar effect.

The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
