A million bucks doesn't go as far these days, but I would probably:

1. Buy a modest home in the $200K range outright

2. Have a kid or 2

3. Set aside $100K (total) for college funds for said kid(s)

4. Give remainder to an avian sanctuary, as they need money far more than I need frivolous material goods
