adam knew good and evil the day he ate the forbidden fruit which was forbidden for a reason. We were made perfect and we could live with God before that.
and the tower of babel was so that the people could reach heaven and be like the Most High. It was God punishing them for their pride. It also serves as a metaphor that you cannot work your way to Heaven.
Jesus said, "They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." Luke 5:31
the self-righteous will not seek a savior, but the one's who know they are sinners will look to the Savior Jesus Christ, and the Lord is faithful and true. He cannot lie and He promises us eternal life when we believe on Him.
The Lord is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Just because you're welcome here and haven't been thrown out (yet) doesn't mean this isn't specifically an atheist forum. Look at the name. atheistforums.com. Not belief.net. Don't pretend you don't know where you are because you do know when it's convenient for you.
If Adam didn't know good and evil until he are the forbidden fruit then he had no way of knowing that disobeying god was evil. So the problem remains. Why would god punish Adam instead of teaching him? God knew what Adam would do. It was a set up and if anybody goes to hell, it's because of god. Jesus even said in Luke 4 that his purpose for speaking in parables was so the people would not understand and repent and be saved. I know that's a terrible thing, but read what he said, not what the Sunday school teacher said he said.
If god just wanted to punish the people at the Tower of Babel for their pride, all he had to do was wait 'til they ran out of stones and realized they still could not reach heaven. But the bible says god said if left alone there would be no limit to what the people could accomplish. The thought of humans rising out of the dust and working together to achieve a goal he had not set for them, botheed god. You call this pride. But here at the atheistforums.com we don't think it evil to have a goal your god did not set for us.
stop advising God what He should've done
the disciples asked why speakest thou unto them in parable?
"Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given." He spoke in parables about heaven to the saved and he explains the meaning of the parables literally right after in the bible.
