For all the BS we hear from the GOP about "restoring America" (to what, exactly? Anyone who says that phrase has not read Noam Chomsky), I think Sanders could be the first person who's willing to take on the issues most necessary to make us a nation of decency again, and restore our place both as a first world nation and a member of the world community.
But as you say, the same special interest groups who have ruined our potential will spend whatever it takes to destroy him.
Yeah, if there's any form of relief here, it's that even if he doesn't end up being President, Bernie is triggering a chain of events that would probably make his wishes come true eventually. After all, a lot of young Americans agree with most of Bernie's policies. Once the corrupt dinosaurs are gone, there may be a better chance for America, and in turn the rest of the civilized world. As an Aussie, who the American leader is matters to me as well.
Right now, the USA is not ready to be like Denmark, Hilary is sort of right on this one.
