Well, that's because most christians - despite declarations of belief in everlasting life, dependent on following revealed will of god - dedicate much less time and energy to this pursuit of "absolute truth" and "salvation", than one would to a hobby.

Maybe I'm just weird, but if I believed religion had any basis in reality - I'd sure as hell would want to make sure I got it right...
