YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYA!!!!
Bayon went to tribal, Stephen skipped through without a single vote, and Spence only got one completely expected vote! Oh, and Monica is gone - YAYAYAYAYAY!!!!
I didn't like Monica from Samoa - but I think a lot of that had to do with her association with Laura and I hate-hate-hated Laura. Monica had the stink of Laura all over her that season and came into this season with it, too - tho oddly enough Cierra doesn't have that stink on her at all despite being Laura's daughter. Perhaps it's because Cierra actually played her own game whereas Monica seemed to coast along in Laura's shadow?
Loved this episode!
(Oh, BTW, Kimmi's strawman of Monica? Then only time I kinda felt for Monica in the whole of Survivor.)
I think he's getting a great edit, along with Jeremy - but man, Jeremy cannot get it together in challenges!
I agree with that. He seems a lot more aware this time around and is trying to not look so much like an obvious threat, even tho I think everyone still sees him as one.
I don't think so. Spencer isn't in Joe's shadow, and has never been. They have yet to be on the same tribe so it's not like the tribes are always choosing Joe over Spence, and Joe has been passive enough in challenges that there hasn't been a big Joe-Spence head-to-head thing... I think Spence is downplayed in the physical arena because his strategic game is stronger, and his social game needs work. His physical game is just fine, so they're not commenting on it.
I knew Monica was gone the second they opened the show with Kimmi complaining about her. Practically nothing from Monica and Kimmi for four episodes and now they're opening with them arguing? One of them is going - and it's the one that's not given the confessional about the other.
Yes, you are mysogynistic about this show. j/k... What about Parvati? What about Sandra? Or Kim? Or Sophie?
With that said, tho, I have heard quite a bit of criticism of the show for its favoritism toward the larger male characters. If you think of all the people Probst seems to love, they're all men: Boston Rob, Coach, Malcolm, Colby, etc. They all tend toward being macho, physical players, and since Probst became Executive Producer he has a lot more control over who he has the opportunity to favor.
I also think there's not a lot of love given toward women in general, let alone on the show. Women who play aggressive games are seen as bitches, as too aggressive, and tend to fall into the villain category: Kass. Women who use their charms and looks to get ahead are written off as simply using their feminine whiles to get what they want while the rest of their game is overlooked: Parvati. Women who align with a dominant male player who takes all the bullets are viewed as riding coat tails while their efforts go unappreciated: Natalie White.
I'm nervous for Stephen next week; he seems to be getting a little cocky next week.

Could he possibly be getting the winner edit, or at least, the edit of a person who goes far? Then again, he is great TV. I love watching him because you can tell how much he's into the game and he's always playing.

Quote:Joe was beautiful, and perfect at challenges as usual.
Quote:You can tell he's kinda trying to keep off the radar of a threat by letting other teammates take a lead role in challenges. Letting Terri go instead of him 2 weeks ago, letting Keith do the thing with the balls yesterday... you can tell he's holding back.
I agree with that. He seems a lot more aware this time around and is trying to not look so much like an obvious threat, even tho I think everyone still sees him as one.
Quote:I feel like Spencer is very good at challenges too, but for some reason, is not seen that way. Perhaps because he's in Joe's shadow, no one notices the 2nd best??

Quote:Anyway, I'm glad Monica is gone. She kinda annoyed me with her all girl's alliance blabbering, and she was boring.

Quote:I don't know why, but I feel like I become super misogynistic when it comes to this show lol. The only girl in Survivor that I ever liked a lot was Stephanie, and she was basically like a dude lol. I just feel like the girls aren't as good at the game, and are kinda boring. The men are much more diverse and interesting characters. And the women who actually ARE interesting characters are usually brats like Abi and Kass.

Quote:Anyway, what did yall think of this episode?? Great season so far. Hoping all the interesting people continue to stay in the game.
