I am going to pedantically point out that I am deliberately overusing certain words - and being overly wordy - for effect.
And I am going to point out that you said that your way of constructing the sentence is better. You didn't specifically say grammatically better, and being wordy and overusing words may be better for effect, perhaps at least vaguely amusing effect. So your point that it is just "better" is not automatically implied; it is not necessarily correct.
How do you absolutely know that there is no such thing as "pointlessly pedantic"? And if there is no such thing, how does this imply that it is incorrect to use such a term and that I should lose 10 points and you gain 30?
For assuming that grammatically better implies simply "better" I'm taking my 10 points back. And for assuming that there is necessarily no such thing as "pointlessly pedantic" and that that automatically implies that it is incorrect to use such a term "especially in a thread" simply because it doesn't exist. Ignoring the fact it might work well for perhaps at least a chance at overly wording effect, for that I'm taking 30 off you so it's back again. And the point is that I have been using my wordiness in order to be pedantic about my own wordiness. Perhaps I should get points for that?
How pedantic of me to notice that if you are pedantic about your own mistakes then perhaps that should also constitute as points to win in the pedantic war? For I am battling vs myself in order to intimidate my opponents (in the 'pedantic war') with my pedantically pedantic abilities ( I am going to point out now, pedantically, that there is probably (or perhaps almost certainly, just to be pedantic for a second) "no such thing" as "pedantically pedantic", I had to point that out - how pedantic of me).
And then I also get one point for being pedantic.
