- Is there intelligent life outside Earth?
Somebody must have already said it, but is there intelligent life here on earth? Anyway, answer is: Considering the size of the universe, a highly probable yes.
- Have we been visited by beings from other planets?
Possibly, but highly unlikely considering the young age of our planet and the massiveness of the universe, not to mention the whole annoying speed of light issue which so far we haven't proven a way around yet.
- Would aliens look like us or carry basic similarities?
Maybe yes, maybe no. There is a possibility they may have some similar features such as 4 limbs, but equally could have any number of limbs, or maybe no limbs at all.
- Is the money wasted on looking for life outside of Earth?
No. The morale boost to humanity to find we are not alone in the universe would be massive... well, except for the Xtians and others who would have to find some justification for this in their religious texts before they could be happy about it.
- Could or would aliens have a similar society to our own?
Possibly, or it could be completely different. No data.
- Could or would aliens believe in a 'God' figure or have a religious society?
If they are as fucked up as we are, then probably yes. Still, they could also do ancestor worship or living god king type worship. Or maybe we would find that they can't even comprehend the idea of supernatural entities.
A finite number of monkeys with a finite number of typewriters and a finite amount of time could eventually reproduce 4chan.
