I've heard about cybernetics being a possible in future.
Robotics + organics (if that's the right word?) being blended together might add for further future complexity to develop, if it works.
Because of course DNA is more complex than what Robots are made out of; biology is very complex.
And if it simply stayed at mechanical non-living robotics; and robots had to develop themselves and it took them AGES to develop (or, 'evolve' as it were, in their own way) the complexity to surpass humans; despite the fact technology moves on so fast....- even then: It took a billion or two years or something, I heard; just to get from single celled life forms to multiple celled life forms (several billion years ago, about 4.6 right?); so even if it took half a billion years, - for example - for robots to surpass humans: That would actually be an awful lot faster than it took for humans to develop wouldn't it?
If you consider that humans developed originally from single celled life forms; we are all descended from one very ancient single-celled common ancestor I mean.
