Clerk Defies Supreme Court, Refuses Gay Marriage Licenses

I think that for the preservation of our Constitutional right of religious liberty, people of faith who take issue with gay marriage should be exempt from accommodating gay weddings.

The problem with this kind of idiot bigot pandering is that it assumes that marriage is a religious function. It is not, it is a civil function that various churches tried to hijack back around the time of the reformation because they either were trying to turn their state into a theocracy (cf Calvin and Geneva) or they finally copped on that there's gold in dem thar hills.
