Yeah and? It's my body. I live in it. None of anyone's business if I want to kill everything inside of it. Plus, you don't have to hurt yourself drinking or using. In moderate amounts it can be beneficial to your health.
Curious question. I hurt myself all the time, without consuming anything or killing any cells in my body, is that a sin?
Quote:once your too much intoxicated you may even hurt people or things around you. hence it is considered wrong.
That's a separate issue.
This view doesn't apply to you sir, we believe one is fortunate to be given a human life rather than an animal or other forms of life. One has to bring good karma from the past lives to live a life as a human. Through a human life only one can attain Nirvana. That is why hurting what you have got to attain Nirvana is considered a sin. What sort of life you will get in the next life is more dependent in the time one dies.
Example ; be a drunkard most of the time through out ones life, chances are you remembering "that part" at the time of death. If one lives a life with less drinking and accumulates good karma things will be different at the time of death. I believe one cannot control the thoughts at death.
