I'm confused. Where did I say newer games were harder? Older games are much more difficult on average.
Sorry, should have clarified, it wasn't you say that said it. Faith No More made a point that newer games don't hold you hand as you suggested, and used Bloodbourne and Dark Souls as an example. I was on your side, I agree you are babied through games in general. Formulaic story line that has no repercussions if anything goes wrong, and it's just plain easy anyway. There are a few exceptions, but they certainly aren't the norm.
