Hi there,

I've been wanting to join a forum like this for a while, since I'm constantly thinking about religion, atheism, science, the human mind, the origins of life and the universe, and related topics.

I'm in my last year of university, studying mostly Psychology with a little Sociology, Anthropology, and Astronomy thrown in there too. My boyfriend and I are both intellectually curious, scientifically-minded atheists who love to think about the bigger picture. We can't wait to raise our future children to be open-minded, to question everything, and to appreciate the wonders of the real world.

In my early teens, I went through a 'Christian phase' where I really wanted to believe. As a result, I understand very well the comfort, guidance, and sense of community and certainty that can come with being religious. But after growing up and continuing my education, I reached the 'age of reason,' as they say. And now, the more I learn, the more I realize just how false religious ideas are, and that the world would be better off without them. We have it within us to live our lives with goodness, and to look upon the world with wonder, without any gods. My sincere hope is that humanity will come to realize this, before it's too late.
