Ah. I see.
I don't know enough about this behavior to make an informed opinion, I'm merely a fan of several of his videos, such as the ones linked above, so I know little about this subject matter.
He may (or may not) very well be a hypocrite but I still don't see how this has anything to do with the idea of free speech, which I define essentially as the ability to speak as one will. He hasn't inhibited anyone else's free speech for anything or against anything - including himself.
Assuming what you're saying is true, he makes accusations and doesn't respond to criticism, but he's not inhibiting their right to make those accusations. He simply chooses not to enguage his critics.
I should also note that I don't really consider "request that people not use certain language against himself" as an inhabition against free speech.
Well, I do need to clarify that because, in the most technical sense of the term, I suppose it is but I view it as the same thing as asking people not to overuse curse words or namecalling or to lie. It doesn't really count in my book to a certain extent.
Now, if he frequently disabled comments and ratings at youtube or something akin to that so people couldn't rate or comment on his videos, then sure but I'm not aware of any regular attempts to do so outside the likelyhood that he may have had to remove comments from youtube trolls.
If today you can take a thing like evolution and make it a crime to teach in the public schools, tomorrow you can make it a crime to teach it in the private schools and next year you can make it a crime to teach it to the hustings or in the church. At the next session you may ban books and the newspapers...
Ignorance and fanaticism are ever busy and need feeding. Always feeding and gloating for more. Today it is the public school teachers; tomorrow the private. The next day the preachers and the lecturers, the magazines, the books, the newspapers. After a while, Your Honor, it is the setting of man against man and creed against creed until with flying banners and beating drums we are marching backward to the glorious ages of the sixteenth centry when bigots lighted fagots to burn the men who dared to bring any intelligence and enlightenment and culture to the human mind. ~Clarence Darrow, at the Scopes Monkey Trial, 1925
Politics is supposed to be the second-oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first. ~Ronald Reagan
