I think a lot of people don't know what the word means.
I grew up on a very bigoted street, uneducated white boy bullies. But my earliest thoughts of "why" even though I did not understand back then, was a mixed couple who had a mixed girl about my age, couldn't understand why they made the jokes they did. Had a black guy on my street try to teach me golf, which I didn't like but tried anyway because I liked him. My first job was at a 7-11 which was managed by immigrants from Pakistan, I was a complete spastic stressed out all the time, looking back at that now, they had tons of patience dealing with me.
But I was lucky at a young age that my parents took me all over the united states, even had a Japanese exchange student living with us for a couple weeks. Always identified with media that conveyed diversity even outside all those I have met in my life. My first attempt at living on my own I rented a room in a house owned by a family from India. And my x wife was Japanese. My first long period date that lasted more than a month was a Hispanic.
And Northern Va just outside of DC, minus the island street I lived on, has always been diverse.
Some idiots want to paint my blasphemy as the same as Trump's ignorance when he says "Some of my best friends are" when he says "I love the Hispanics".
And all of the jobs I have had in my life have always had a variety of people. I do hate bringing that up, but just like when believers on the issue of religion say "Why do you care", I have to say something because you(some) keep saying stupid shit.
