No I don't support them. I wish I had never started to smoke, but it is the only thing that keeps me from going crazy and I don't like the side effects of the things offered to quit. I am simply realistic about not being able to quit, and also that people are going to do it anyway. Just like I am not pro abortion, but pro choice. In a perfect world nobody would smoke and every pregnant girl would have family support and want the kid.
This has NOTHING to do with the free for all climate "fuck pollution" and "fuck workers" which even the tobacco companies support.
I really fucking hate that people like you cannot separate the free market, with the CLIMATE of the free market. You have gas guzzling sports cars but how practical are they? You cant legally speed on a public road and you burn more gas using them. So really all they amount to is "look at the money I can waste because I like the attention". I thought the same thing about smoking too. "I can quit any time I want" "I know what I am doing" "I look cool smoking".....I really thought that, just like morons who think sports cars are practical.
We also had rotary phones at one time, but we don't make them anymore.
I only "support" them because people will do it anyway AND because I am addicted myself. At the same time, I will also tell kids not to start, and yes, I am glad they cant put adds on TV or sell them with the Marlboro man or Joe Camel, and I am glad they don't make candy smokes anymore. Just like I think we should stop making fossil fuel burning cars, or factories for that matter. And even if we went to electric cars, I see no need to build anything that goes over 55mph. Speeding isn't done by drivers for safety reasons, fast cars are marketed based on the buyer's ego and vanity.
NO I buy cigarettes like a heroine addict, I don't support tobacco companies. Buying something because your body tells you you have to isnt always supporting the desire to do it.
