I know the "only good a good guy with a gun can stop a bad guy with a gun" spiel that the NRA endlessly pushes. I'm only telling the OP that his assertion that everybody with a gun just wants to save the day is not true. It just isn't. Yeah, I have one. I have it for my defense. If I hear shooting inside a store from the street, am I going in? Fuck no. That's a policeman's job. OP's post makes it seem as though anybody who carries a gun would immediately rush in to "save" everybody.
If a situation happens directly involving me, I want to be in a position to handle it. This is one of the few areas we disagree on, Min, but surely you see a difference between me and some agitator like Arpaio.
