Well the reality is that nothing at all matters; but with regards to how I feel about other idiots in the world, knowing I'm not one of them gives me a serious dose of intellectual superiority and that satisfies my ego enough not to give a toot.
So here's where you seem to be confused about things, or at least misleading in how you present your take on the matter at hand. Your own well-being matters to you, therefore things do matter. Mayhaps not in a universal way, for the purpose of this conversation, but on a lesser, human scale, things do matter. Surely, you hold that to be the case?
