I was non-consensually subjected to a lot of Trek when I lived with my ex. Voyager was terrible, and I say that as someone who really wanted to enjoy Janeway. I could watch TNG only because I adore Patrick Stewart to no end. During one episode I remember, he was encouraging the Doc to follow him climbing out of some tunnel. I told my ex that Stewart could convince me to do anything. He's just that way.

The whole women empowerment in the movie was so obvious; I wanted to puke.
America is obviously a feminist nation. And now they are pumping their agendas into the movies too.
Get fucking bent. You have no idea what you're goddamn talking about.

Anom, I don't know what to tell you. I don't feel she had it too easy - there's nothing she did that required a ton of training. The podcast Current Geek really had it right: she does nothing she doesn't observe Ren doing first, so she's mimicing him with burgeoning powers. She already has some "sword" training just by being good with a staff. The troopers aren't that difficult to control.
My complaint is that it felt like too much had to get smooshed into one movie. It was like an Avengers movie: everything has to come together and get set up so all the spin-offs make sense. Well, it's happened - now we can move along with these characters WHO I LOVE.
I cried when I saw the opening logo and screen crawl.
