Unconditional= without reservation or without condition. Accepting Christ is indeed a condition.
John 3:16 spells out God's conditions.
What of those in whom the bible records God hating?
ETA, My view on Jesus is He came to help mankind, not to dictate to it that if man doesn't follow Jesus, God will stop loving him. His teachings were more to say, you will live a far better life if you do follow Me. Again, it's about a relationship, as I see it. This doesn't mean someone who doesn't follow Jesus won't live a good life, or that God won't love him/her. It only means that Jesus' teachings were to help us not hinder us. God wants a relationship with us, but He won't force that on us. I believe God still loved me when I stopped believing in Him. (I've come to that conclusion, upon returning to faith) This in a nutshell, is the essence of my new found faith.
