Ahlulbayt are central to understanding the Quran.
Message of Quran has two miracle aspects.
It's wisdom.
The eloquence.
Eloquence without substance is meaningless.
Wisdom needs manifestation. Talking about the family of Ibrahim with no relevance to this nation is meaningless.
Talking about offspring of Noah inheriting Prophethood, etc, emphasizing these things repeatedly, has no meaning if no relevance.
Talking about young age of Yayha when he is a Prophet or Jesus, has to have some of relevance or it's useless.
The designation in all that, the wisdom, it needed designation of the same boat that "by the name of God is it's sailing and anchoring".
Without Ali, the Quran makes no sense. You can talk about eloquence all you want, but when it has no argument, no substance, then it's just that...eloquence with no substance. Meaningless stories.
But Ali and Fatima and their chosen offspring, were the meaning, the designation, the focal point, it's what makes Suratal Fatiha make sense with respect to whole Quran. It's what makes all the emphasis on the chosen families of the past make sense.
etc etc...
