Because your concept of reality is severely constricted if you actually think that only scientifically verifiable facts count as knowledge. I suspect that while you may profess that, you do not actually live as if that were true.
No just the opposite. Scientific method opens doors. If it did not open doors, you would not be typing what you just did. Constricted is clinging to old books of myth. Humans do it, humans should have the right to do it. But history shows what humans once thought was supernatural always ends up getting relegated to the natural world.
