In general most people would agree that if who don't practice a particular faith but still believe in a god, you probably fall into the category of being a theist. Yes I do agree, that majority religions do also fall under that category because it has the same basic principle (plus dogma). However, just because a religion falls in the same category that does not mean a theist must follow a particular religion.
All I am stating that I am a theist with no association with any religion, there is no redefining.
I agree.
Theism is nothing more than a belief in at least one god.
There is no requirement within theism to follow or belong to any religion. Nor is any dogma or doctrine required.
The only thing I have to add, is that out of the great many people that claim to be theists, without belonging or following a religion, whenever I have pinned them down on describing the god that they actually believe exists, it turns out to be amazingly similar to the Christian god.
What is a Christian God? Please elaborate what you have understood and/or come across from others.
