Tell us more about that good old time religion Drich.IDK I think Joseph had a pretty good run as Pharaoh's slave. No one had a higher position in all of Egypt. He literally ruled, and only answered to Pharaoh himself.
Maybe to you having complete access and control of the most powerful nation in the world at the time is just 'the man trying to keep you down.' But to me that would be a great place of honor, even if I had the title slave. Why? because it is only a word that we ourselves give meaning to. The circumstance Joseph lived was far above and beyond anyone else in his day except one person, and enjoyed freedoms and wealth most in his day could not even fathom let alone access in all of their 'freedom.' Yet by definition He was a slave to pharaoh.
That my narrow minded friend is an example of slavery not being a 'bad' thing, yet on the other side of the coin in just a few hundred years, when all had been forgotten about Joseph, the tide turned and the slaves of Egypt/The Jews were treated horribly as slaves.
That is why I said slavery is a tool that does not have to be all evil all the time. It simply brings out who we are when we are left unchecked with the illusion of total control over another human being. That is why it is so important that people like you acknowledge your role in modern day slavery so we do not let companies who own/use slave labor to go unchecked!
