How about the fact that he says that you can't understand America if you don't think that America was founded on Judeo-Christian values.  It wasn't.  There were many people who held Juedo-Christian Values, but that does not mean that America was founded on those values.  One may find the word "creator" only in the Declaration of Independence.  Nowhere is God or any sort of creator mentioned in the only legal document that matters--the constitution.  Our rights come from the constitution.   No matter how much theists wish it to be so.  Their God had no involvement in the founding of our country.  The good news is this means that nobody else's god did either.  It's very much a dirtbag thing to suggest that our rights come from 'god'.

Don't you think the values of the people of the time played a role in the values of they created for the culture/society, though? I think that's all he was saying.

Edit to add: and by "values" I don't mean belief in God... I mean what specifically *comes* from that. Believing in freedom, justice, etc
