When the Republican, Christian Texas Governor and the Republican, Christian Texas Attorney General and the Republican, Christian State DA are compelled to indict these assholes, it's time to jump ship.
And now let's play the "cutting off the ridiculous ad hoc excuses before they can be made," game!
"But, but, the indictment has to be biased, one of the attorneys in that office worked for Planned Parenthood!"- ... and also specifically recused herself from the case on those grounds!
"But, but, this is just more left wing judicial activism!"- ... From a right wing, pro-lifer bringing the indictment, on the basis that she wouldn't let her political ideology cloud her response to the facts. She worked her ass off to remove any bias from her decision, probably knowing full well the fallout this would bring down on her, and personally I respect the hell out of her for that.
"But, but, Planned Parenthood is still guilty!"- ... Which is why investigation after investigation exonerated them. That's what's really important to remember about all this: grand jury hearings are way different than court cases. It's actually really easy to nab an indictment from a grand jury, given that they're run by a prosecutor without the aid of judges or lawyers, and the rules of evidence there are more relaxed, to the point that things inadmissible in a court can be shown without problems there. Grand juries indict the majority of cases that come before them- in 2010 they got over 160,000 cases, and indicted all but eleven of them. Consider that: grand juries indict over 95% of the time, for reasons far less stringent than a court of law would expect, and yet Planned Parenthood skated by without a hitch. How clean, how in line with the law and morality must PP be, to go through a system where, so goes the legal idiom, it would be possible to indict a ham sandwich, and come out the other end as pure as the driven snow? With a pro-life advocate making the decision!
So what say you now, all you drama queens who swallowed that scam hook line and sinker, because it agreed with what you wanted to be true? Will you back down in the face of overwhelming legal evidence, or just continue on and show how your opinions matter more to you than the evidence does?
